What does 4-D mean?
The fourth dimension is time. A 4-D ultrasound is a moving 3-D image of your baby. Any yawn, eye-opening, or thumb-sucking movements will be seen and captured on your video.
Is The 4-D Ultrasound Safe?
Ultrasounds have been used since the 1950’s. To date, there have been no documented side effects of ultrasound imaging. In fact, doctors of high risk pregnancy patients tend to perform more frequent ultrasounds in order to keep an eye on the developing fetus however, it is your choice to have an ultrasound and we always suggest that you speak with your doctor before scheduling an ultrasound.
How do I prepare for my ultrasound?
Week 4-11: Please try to arrive to your appointment with a semi-full bladder.
Week 12-40: Every day the week prior to your visit drink 10 to12, 8oz glasses of water. The day of your appointment, drink water through the day. We suggest a sugary drink, if you don’t have sugar issues, about 15-20 minutes prior to your scan with us. Both of these are highly recommended techniques on getting the most form your ultrasound. *You do not need a full bladder
How Soon Can We Find Out The Gender Of Our Baby?
We can tell you the baby’s gender as early as 13 weeks! We hold a 99.9% accuracy rate. Due to various circumstances, sometimes baby does not cooperate to show gender during the appointment. If this does indeed happen, we do include a 2nd visit free of charge to be used in a week or two, to try again. Our techs are highly experienced and pride themselves on accuracy.
When Is The Best Time To Come and Get A 4-D Ultrasound?
You’re welcome to visit anytime during your pregnancy. Heart beat checks can be done starting at week 5+. Gender verification is recommended at week 13 and later, and facial photos are recommended for week 26 and later.
Can You Tell Me My Due Date and If There Is Anything Abnormal With My Baby?
We offer non-medical, non-diagnostic ultrasounds. Our services provide you an opportunity to bond with your baby and are intended for the enjoyment of you and your family. We stress the importance of regular prenatal care and would rather have you see a physician before you see us. But in the event of needing help to pinpoint due date and weight, we can help.
Do You Accept Insurance / Medicaid?
No. Because we are non-medical and non-diagnostic, we are unable to bill insurance companies. We do accept cash, credit, and debit cards.
Do You Accept Walk-ins?
No, we are open by appointment only. Call ahead for an appointment that fits within your schedule. We offer weekday, weekend, and some evenings as late as 8:00 pm.
My Ultrasound Pictures Were Not As Clear As My Friend’s pictures. Why Is This?
Image quality depends on many things, including level of amniotic fluid, placenta position, position of the baby, and maternal body content (the amount of tissue between the probe and the baby). While we strive to provide you with the best possible pictures of your baby, these variables might affect the quality of your pictures.
If I do not get a good picture or any pictures of face, do I get a refund?
If we are unable to obtain a picture of baby, we do not offer a refund. If the baby is in a non-photographical position (i.e. face down towards the mother’s spine, hands covering face or gender), we will invite you back one time for ONE complimentary re-scan at no additional charge. If baby is still not in great position, we offer a re-scan for $25 per re-try. Complimentary re-scans need to be booked and performed within 2 weeks of original ultrasound.
Can I Bring My Family and Friends To My Ultrasound?
Absolutely! You are welcome up to 15 family members and/or friends to accompany you through your appointment. We also welcome children, though we do recommend that you bring someone to help with very small children. Many parents cannot enjoy seeing the new baby while wrestling a crying toddler, or trying to entertain a preschooler etc. It can be a wonderful time of bonding for all involved.
Cancellation policy
We understand that unplanned issues do arise and you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you contact us at least 24 hours PRIOR to your scheduled appointment as common courtesy to other expectant families. If we do not receive a call or message to cancel and/or reschedule within 24 hours, a $25 charge will be assessed when you come in for an appointment.
